Terri Walsh INTC 5320 Project 6
Materials: document camera, Writer’s Workshop stories Target Group: LRC elementary students Procedure: Weekly the students write either expository or narrative pieces for a Writer’s Workshop lesson. One highlight is to present their stories to the group. Using the document camera, the speaker’s story can be displayed simultaneously so the class can follow along while the author reads his/her story to the class. Another benefit to this is that students are nervous about standing in front of the class and having everyone look at them. With their story being displayed on a large screen in the front of the class, many of the students will be looking at the story and not its author. This helps alleviate some of the anxiety students feel when doing a presentation. Assessments: Writing rubric, teacher observation, peer reviews
